Santos is Latin America's most important seaport and counts more than 400,000 inhabitants. The city is 90 km away from São Paulo at the sea-side, so 800 meters of altutide below São Paulo, surrounded by the impressive Atlantic tropical rain forest. A modern high-way connects the two cities.
The Cruise Terminal or "Terminal Maritimo de Passageiros" represents an important part of the port: many international or inner-Brazilian cruises start or land here. Each day, up to 10,000 passangers and crew members cross the Cruise Port. The Cruise ships land directly at the pier right in front of the terminal, so that the passangers can proceed directly from the ship to the terminal - or at other piers with a bus transfer. The landing procedure typically takes several hours. The terminal builing is equipped with about 15 gates heading to the land side on a street which is still inside the Cruise Port area. The actual exits of the Cruise Port are located even further land-ward, heading to the freely accessible port area. Your driver from myDriver São Paulo will calmly wait for you at the exit of the Cruise Port - no matter, when your ship arrives and how long the desembarking takes.
